Our Board Certified Dermatologists and Physician Assistants are uniquely trained to analyze the skin, hair, and nails. They can spot potential problems and diagnose a multitude of conditions that range from minor to life-threatening. These skills and knowledge can improve the lives of patients of all ages - the infant with a red birthmark, the child with eczema, youth with acne, the baby boomer with sun-damaged skin, the senior citizen with shingles - effectively treating their skin conditions and making them look and feel their best. Regular skin exams can identify new or changing lesions that might be cancerous or precancerous and are key to maintaining healthy skin.
A few common conditions we treat include:
- Psoriasis – This condition is commonly identified by thick reddish patches of skin, which may have a silvery-white coating on them. It is frequently found on the elbows, knees, scalp, and lower back, but can occur anywhere. Treatment can minimize the frequency and severity of the psoriasis when it flares up and increase patient comfort.
- Rashes – Rashes are caused by a variety of sources, frequently they are the result of an allergic reaction such as that to poison ivy or oak. Once we determine the cause of the rash our providers can prescribe a treatment plan.
- Warts – Warts are non-cancerous, but they are contagious. They can easily be spread by having a cut on your hand and sharing a hand towel with someone who has a wart on their hand. Our providers can remove warts and recommend the best treatment for your individual needs.
- Acne – Is most common in teenagers and young adults. Symptoms range from uninflamed blackheads to pus-filled pimples or large, red, and tender bumps .Treatments include over-the-counter creams and cleanser, as well as prescription antibiotics.
